Meeting

Meeting

At the initial meeting we laid down our ground rules and expectations that we set for each other and for the group and we discussed what "...ing" things we would do and when we would try to do them. Immediately we realized that it wouldn't be as easy to meet as we thought it would be due to all of us having different work schedules and different class schedules. Some advantages to working in groups include being able to divvy up the work and being able to get second and third opinions on things instead of just depending on your own knowledge and opinions. Some disadvantages to working in groups are depending on everyone to do their part and dealing with everyone doing things differently.

  • Attendance Policy: If we set a specific time to meet (which is extremely difficult due to the fact that none of us operate on the same schedule) you have 30 minutes to show up after the set time to either arrive or tell the rest of us that you will not be attending the meeting and you will be contacted at least three times and if you do not respond then we will not wait on you and we will move on without you
  • Group Decisions: We decided that we would make our decisions democratically and that the best way to make decisions is to go with the majority and since it was an uneven amount of us there was never a problem of getting stuck making a decision
  • Managing Conflict: If a group member is unable to participate then we will do what we can to the best of our ability to make sure that everyone is able to be incorporated in the project in some way. However, there is a difference between someone wanting to participate and not being able to and someone choosing not to participate. If someone chooses to not participate then the rest of the group members will attempt to contact the group member not pulling their weight and try to get to the root of the problem. If after the initial meeting with said group member things don't change then a second attempt to get them to step up will be made and if after that things don't change then they will not be included in the project.
  • Plan of Action: We will try to meet whenever class is cancelled if all of our schedules are clear

Strolling

Today we went on a stroll around TCC’s campus. We all have stressful lives and it was a good way to get some stress off our hectic lives. It was also a good way to get to know everyone in our group. To learn where everyone is from and how they are liking college instead of High School. Everyone was mostly excited because of the freedom and choices you can make now and not be nagged by your parents to be home at a certain time.             As we were walking we noticed we all had something in common. We all work a ton just to pay for normal things like living in a house/apartment. You never thought of that as a kid and it made us all appreciated it. Strolling around TCC is a fun way to get stress off your shoulders and get to know new people. If you ever have the chance to do it I highly recommend it just go out be out and go strolling....

Studying

This is my group and I at the TCC library studying for upcoming tests. All of us decided we wanted to do a group study session so we could help one  another prepare for tests that we had in our other classes. We're also in a group chat on our phones, which made it a lot easier to meet up with each other. Rather than trying to make plans in the classroom which is   the only place we actually meet one  another in person.  It was actually a challenge trying to meet up since all of us have jobs that we have to go to, and on top of that just personal things that needed to be taken care of. But eventually we all found a good day which happened to be on a day that our class we all have together got cancelled. So we met up via the group chat on our phones texting each other where to meet and when a good time was so we could get a good study session in. Since we studied all, of us passed our tests that we had and were glad that we did this group study session.
